Sydney town planner David Hain was appointed yesterday by Robert Landsdown to assist in the review he is conducting into residential redevelopment.

Submission to the review are due on Friday. Mr Landsdown said yesterday that he hoped to engage in some sort of public process as soon as posisble after submissions close and to report before the end of next month.

Mr Hain is a fellow of the Royal Australian Institute of Planning and has been a consultant on evironmental impact and effects of residential redevelopment and dual occupancy in Sydney and Brisbane, a consultant to the Building Better Cities program, urban adviser in Saudi Arabia and Indonesia and has held planning positions in the then National Capital Development Commission and Department of Urabn and Regional Development.

Mr Landsdown said Mr Hain would provide invaluable technical and professional skills to the review and enable it to conclude more quickly.
